Madison Monsters

Madison Monsters

The Madison Monsters hail from Madison, Wisconsin, and played in the UHL from 1995-99. They had moderate success on the ice, making the playoffs in three of their four seasons. But the team is probably most notable for their striking logo of a monster tearing through the front of the jersey, and also a couple of Broadstreet Bully connections. For the 1996-97 season, the team was coached by the legendary Dave Schultz. Schultz wouldn't return for the next season, but that year the team kept the Philly connection going where former NHLer Reggie Leach suited up for a game. At age 47. It's odd looking at Leach's career stats, and seeing a gap of more than 10 years in between his final two seasons. The Monsters would move to Knoxville and become the Speed in the middle of 1999 but left behind one of the best minor league logos you'll see.
