Vancouver Blazers

The Vancouver Blazers started play in the WHA in 1973-74 after moving across the continent from Philadelphia and taking up residence in the same arena as the NHL's Vancouver franchise. The Blazer tried to make a splash upon arriving in Vancouver by attempting to sign Phil Esposito, but that plan fell through. The team would spend two middling years in Vancouver before deciding to pack up again, this time heading for Alberta as the Calgary Cowboys.
