Muskegon Fury

There's a long line of hockey history in the western Michigan town of Muskegon that dates back to the 1930s. The Fury came along towards the more modern side of that history, joining the UHL in 1992 with Furious Fred, the angry windstorm of a mascot. They were extremely successful, winning four league championships in 15 seasons. After the team was sold in 2008, they were rebranded into the Lumberjackets and folded after two seasons. The team can claim a number of future NHL coaches in their alumni, including Bruce Boudreau, Bill Stewart, and Steve Ludzik.
