Laval National / National de Laval
The Laval National or National de Laval were a major junior hockey team that played out of the Colisée de Laval during the 1970s. The team was originally known as the Rosemont National when they launched in 1969 in Rosemont, Quebec. The team played eight seasons under the National moniker in Laval from 1971-79 and their logos changed over time but were generally two hockey sticks that formed a L and a mirroring backwards L. The team was pretty successful on the ice, making the playoffs in five of eight seasons although they never won a league title under this name.
The National did not produce a lot of players that made the big show, however they are known for one player in particular. Mike Bossy played four-plus seasons for the team before being drafted by the Islanders in 1977 and became one of the most prolific scorers of all time.
