Dallas Blackhawks History

The Dallas Blackhawks were truly one of the best minor league teams in history and of the 1970s. They played from 1967 through 1982, reaching the finals an unbelievable ten times. They would win four titles; 1969, 1972, 1974, and 1979. The Blackhawks also had a fierce rivalry with the nearby Fort Worth Texansย (also known as the Wings), that ended inย fisticuffs many nights. The Blackhawks alsoย had a number of famous coaches over the years including John Muckler, Bobby Kromm, and Roger Neilson. Both the Blackhawks and the Texans would fold at the end of the 1982 season, simultaneously ending a great rivalry. The league itself would go under two years later in 1984.
