Cincinnati Stingers™

The Cincinnati Stingers played four seasons in the WHA at Riverfront Coliseum from 1975-79. They joined the WHA as an expansion team, which was risky since the league's teams were constantly moving and folding. However, the Stingers did stay in the WHA until the league's demise, receiving a payout instead of joining the NHL. They were pretty consistent, winning between 33-39 games each of their four seasons. They would make the playoffs in two of those seasons, but lose in the first round each team. They can boast some famous alums, as Mike Gartner, and Mark Messier both spent time in the Queen City.
