Los Angeles Sharks

An original WHA team, the Los Angeles Sharks were originally supposed to be called the Aces but were renamed before they ever took the ice. Their first season, 1972-73, was fairly successful and the team finished third in the WHA's Western Division while winning 37 games. However, the team faired much worse on the ice and in the stands during their second season. They recorded only 25 wins and attendance dropped considerably as the cross-town NHL franchise had a successful season. At the end of their second year, the franchise was sold and moved to Detroit to become the Michigan Stags.
