Moncton Golden Flames
The Moncton Golden Flames were a short lived minor league franchise that played out of the Moncton Coliseum in New Brunswick. The team played three seasons there from 1984-87.
The Golden Flames started up in 1984 after the Moncton Alipes moved to Nova Scotia. The Golden Flames sported many players from Calgary as well as Boston, their big league affiliates. A number of high-profile players played for the Flames over their three seasons including Brett Hull, Gary Roberts, Mike Vernon and Geoff Courtnall. The Golden Flames did well on the ice, winning 32, 34, and 41 games in each of their respective seasons. The team was also coached by Terry Crisp for two seasons.
The team would re-brand as the Moncton Hawks for the 1987-88 season.
