Arkansas Glaciercats

The Arkansas Glaciercats were the first professional hockey team in Arkansas history, starting play in the WPHL for the 1998-99 season. They played at the Barton Coliseum in Little Rock to solid crowds over over 4,000 per game that season. They would go 37-27 in their first season and make the playoffs, a successful start for sure. They would enjoy another good campaign for their second season in 99-00, with 32 wins and a second round playoff appearance. Unfortunately, the team would fold following the season. Part of the cause was likely the introduction of the ECHL's Arkansas Riverblades at the newly opened Alltel Arena.
