Waco Wizards

The Waco Wizards were a short-lived team that played in the WPHL at the Heart of Texas Coliseum in Waco. They debuted along with the WPHL itself for the 1996-97 season.

The Wizards had a rocky start, as they went through three coaches in their first two seasons and struggled on the ice. In their second season of 1997-98, they were a league worst 18-48-0-3. However, they would pull of a worst-to-first turnaround and win 40 of 69 games in 1998-99, including a division title. That year would be their only playoff appearance, as they would advance to the second round. By year four, the team was hurting financially and couldn't pay the rent at Heart of Texas Coliseum. The team abruptly folded 27 games into the 1999-00 season, but left behind a wicked awesome Wizard logo.
