San Antonio Rampage
The San Antonio Rampage spent 18-year entertaining the Alamo City in the early 2000s, after the San Antonio Iguanas folded. The team started play in the 2002-03 season as an affiliate of the Panthers.
Their best season came in the 2014-15 season where they notched 45 wins behind strong goaltending from Dan Ellis, who would go on to play in Nashville. Dany Heatley also made a stop in San Antonio that year for 18 games. It would be his last American stop of his career before moving on to play in Europe.
Unfortunately for the Rampage, they never found much post-season success. The team made only four playoff appearances in 18 seasons, getting out of the first round only once.
A number of future big leaguers made stops in San Antonio, including Keith Yandle, Tage Thompson, Oliver Eckman Larsson, Jay Bouwmeester, and goales Jacob Markstrom and Ville Husso.
The Rampage would be sold and leave town in 2020.
