Minnesota Blue Ox

The Minnesota Blue Ox were a short-lived team in Roller Hockey International. The Blue Ox started play in the 1995 season as a replacement for the Minnesota Arctic Blast who sat out the 1995 season in an attempt to leave RHI, start their own league, and were also suing RHI. The Blue Ox would win 13 of 24 games and attract around 1,000 fans per game to Aldrich Arena in Maplewood, MN, a far cry from the approximate 3,000 the Arctic Blast pulled in.

The Blue Ox would fold after the season and the Arctic Blast would re-apped for the 1996 season. When RHI made a one-year come back in 1999, the Minnesota franchise would again be the Blue Ox. RHI and the Blue Ox would fold after the 1999 season.
