Minnesota Arctic Blast
The Minnesota Arctic Blast were a Roller Hockey International team for the 1994 and 1996 seasons. The Minnesota Arctic Blast color setup and name is pretty close to the Huntsville Blast, albeit with a polar bear in the middle and not a rocket. The team did pretty well in the stands, with around 3,000 fans per game attending. On the ice, they were even better, going 18-3-1 in 1994.
However, at the end of the season the Arctic Blast sued RHI over franchise fees and attempted to jump to another league, and claiming they had lost $500,000 over the course of the season. After a year hiatus and being replaced by the Minnesota Blue Ox, the Blast came back to RHI for the 1996 season. They again dominated, with 22 wins in 28 games. The Arctic Blast would not return for the 1997 season.
