St Jean Castors
The St. Jean Castors moved to St Jean sur Richelieu in 1989 from Sherbrooke, where they had been the Sherbrooke Castors since 1969 and won three league titles. In St. Jean, the Castors continued to play well, qualifying for the playoffs each season, but were not able to win another title. The team played seven seasons in St. Jean before moving to Rimouski.
In St. Jean, the Castors featured a few future NHLers over the years, most notably Michel Petit, Benoit Hogue, and future NHL coach Gerard Gallant.
