Oakland Skates
The Oakland Skates were an original Roller Hockey International franchise for the 1993 season, playing out of Oakland Arena. Despite winning only 5 of 14 games in their first season, they would make it to the playoff final against the Anaheim Bullfrogs in 1993, losing to the Anaheim Bullfrogs. The Skates would play another three seasons in RHI, two at the Oakland Arena and the 1996 season at Kaiser Arena in downtown Oakland due to renovations at Oakland Arena. The Skates weren't particularly successful on the rink and averaged around 2,500 fans per game but somehow were able to hold on for four seasons, much longer than other RHI teams with that size fanbase.
