Toronto Planets

Of all the odd 1990s hockey logos and team names, the Toronto Planets have to be one of the oddest. They were an original RHI franchise for the 1993 season, playing at the smaller Varsity Arena in Toronto, which is something most of the league's teams failed to do as they all opted for larger arenas that were much too big for the league's small fanbase.

The teams logo looks like something designed in MS Paint and their doesn't seem to be any clear reason why the team was named the Planets. Perhaps it was a futuristic reference because RHI was the future of hockey? The team went 10-4 in their only season and had Manny Legace in goal, who would go on to play for the Detroit Red Wings.
