Five defunct North Carolina teams, from Greensboro to Fayetteville, on shirts, hoodies, hats, and drinkware.

North Carolina was a minor league hockey state for almost forty years before the Hurricanes arrived in 1997. We make apparel for the teams from those years, in many cases the only apparel that exists for them anywhere.

We're a family-run small business bringing back the designs and the histories of long-lost hockey teams from North Carolina and across the US and Canada.

Hockey Teams in North Carolina

The Hurricanes moved to North Carolina in 1997 and spent their first two seasons in Greensboro, which was fitting. Greensboro had been the state's hockey city since the 1950s.

Greensboro

Greensboro has the deepest roots. The Greensboro Generals joined the Eastern Hockey League in 1959 and kept professional hockey in the city through most of the next two decades. The Monarchs brought the game back in the East Coast Hockey League in 1989.

Winston-Salem: Polar Twins and IceHawks

The Winston-Salem Polar Twins played in the Southern Hockey League from 1973 until the league folded in 1977.

The Winston-Salem IceHawks played two seasons in the United Hockey League, from 1997 to 1999, then moved to Glens Falls, New York, as the Adirondack IceHawks.

Raleigh and Fayetteville

The Raleigh IceCaps played in the East Coast Hockey League from 1991 to 1998.

The Fayetteville Force played in the Central Hockey League from 1997 to 2001.

North Carolina has the Hurricanes now. The five teams on this page are gone, and that's the part worth wearing.
