Two defunct Washington DC teams from the years before the Capitals, on shirts, hoodies, and drinkware.

Washington was a minor league hockey city for decades before the Capitals arrived in 1974, and its rinks included the open-air Riverside Stadium and the Uline Arena in the northeast part of the city. We make apparel for two of the teams that played there, in many cases the only apparel that exists for them anywhere.

We're a family-run small business bringing back the designs and the histories of long-lost hockey teams from Washington DC and across the US and Canada.

Hockey Teams in Washington DC

The Capitals joined the NHL in 1974. The District's hockey history starts a generation earlier, at an open-air rink called Riverside Stadium.

Eagles and Lions

The Washington Eagles played in the Eastern Hockey League from 1939 to 1942, at Riverside Stadium.

The Washington Lions were the city's American Hockey League club, with two seasons in that league starting in 1941 at the Uline Arena. The Lions name carried on in the Eastern league into the 1950s.

Washington has had the Capitals since 1974. The two teams on this page are gone, and that's the part worth wearing.

Two Washington DC teams that don't skate anymore.
